This is a long exposure shot of the Senso-Ji Gate at Asakusa.
Taken in the evening, when the lights are on, this gives an HDR feel to the picture, when the long exposure eliminated the shadows, but luckily it is not bright enough to overexpose the sky.

It’s a sad fact that as a result of the Do Moi (Freeing of the economy), the main cities in Vietnam are becoming very touristy.
Take the Mekong Delta tour for instance, it’s a guided tour with staged performances and hawked wares and foodstuff of “Traditional” Vietnamese culture that just seems too fake.
Nonetheless, it was enjoyable and the scenery is good (just do not breath too deeply)
On the grounds of Ho Chi Minh City Presidential Palace Museum, I came across a group of North Vietnamese tourists proudly wearing their uniforms.
They are extremely friendly too, gamely posing for photos. Unfortunately, attempts at conversation spluttered at the lack of common language.

In quite a few parts of Japan, cycling is a popular mode of transport.
In Himeji, it’s not uncommon to see cyclist zipping past individually or in groups.
Here’s one starting to cross the street in the evening. Probably hurrying home for dinner. This is one of the (not so) few shots that I attempted as I walked back to the Himeji Station from the Castle to get the Shinkansen back to Kyoto.

This is Iwatayama Monkey Park, North of the City of Kyoto in Arashiyama. A beautiful and scenic place where you can get up close to the monkeys.
Here at the viewing platform, you can have a magnificent view of Kyoto City.
