Travel Thursday – The Jurong Bird Park

Singapore Birdpark 201107, originally uploaded by anthonli.

The Jurong Bird Park, located in the west of Singapore (Jurong, duh.), is a popular destination. It is under the same management as the Zoo and Night Safari and you can get a combined entrance ticket to all three attractions.
This is my take on the classic entrance picture that announces the place.

Singapore Birdpark 201107, originally uploaded by anthonli.

as I mentioned in my previous post, I visited the Jurong Bird Park over the past weekend in Singapore.
There I managed to take a picture of this pair of lovebirds cosying up with each other through a gap in the leaves.
It almost seems like we’re peeping. :-p

People Monday – Hoi An Maker

2011 May – Hoi An, originally uploaded by anthonli.

The town of Hoi An is acknowledged throughout Vietnam as the manufacturer of quality lantern.
When you ask about lanterns, they will point you to Hoi An.
Most foreign tourist, however, knows this town for the cheap tailor shops with express overnight service.
Almost all of Hoi An’s lantern that you can buy are still made by hand, just like this lady here, carefully applying glue and pasting the fabric onto the lantern frame.
