I read an article about photographing flowers once. It advices not to just take any nice flower pictures that you come across, but to seek out perfection, just take that 1 flower that is the best among its peers and cover it from all angles.
It is a good advice, but occasionally, some imperfection will give the picture a character. Take this flower with its cracked petal. The tear, to me, adds to the beauty that is the flower and gives it character. Cropping out the tear will result in a very different picture.
