Wildlife Wednesday – Cocoa Flower

Cocoa Flower-Edit, originally uploaded by anthonli.

Taken with on 17 September 2011 with Nikon D90 | @50mm with 25mm Extension tube | f/4.5 | @ 1/250 sec | ISO 640

This cocoa flower was taken over the weekend in a cocoa farm in Ben Tre, Mekong Delta Region. The Mekong Delta is known for its many orchards and farms, being one of the major rice growing regions in Asia.

This flower, however, is not a good representation of Ben Tre, which is known for its coconut produce.

  1. Another reason to like chocolate. 🙂 Beautiful shot.

    • Oh yes! Unfortunately, although Vietnam produces cocoa, it doesn’t manufacture them into chocolate, meaning that chocolate here (at least the good ones) are expensive overseas import. 😦
