People Monday – Vietnamese Calligraphy

Vietnam – Saigon, originally uploaded by anthonli.

During the runup to Tet festival, there are many booths and decorations, many by companies as part of their PR campaign. Here outside the HSBC building in Ho Chi Minh City, a man dressed in traditional costume writes calligraphy on a bookmark for a little girl. Vietnamese calligraphy is originally based on Chinese script, but is now a stylised form of the romanised script.
