Another photo from La Gi that I visited the New Year weekend.
La Gi is primarily a fishing town, and fishermen would go out to sea in these blue tubs every morning to collect the nets laden with catch. Back at the beach, they would hoist them onto the sand with bullock carts to be sorted by their relatives into the different catches.
After sorting, they will bring them to the nearby restaurants, also family run, for sale and the boats will be left on the sand. The nets are covered with canvas or coconut leaves to prevent degradation under the sun.
